What Types Of Roofs Can Be Recovered?

Most flat roof types can be recovered, provided the existing roof structure is in stable condition and there hasn’t been significant water damage. The roof must also have not been previously recovered. A few examples of roof types that can be recovered are Asphalt roofing, Built-Up Roofing, EPDM, Modified Bitument, and Tar and Gravel roofs.

How Is A Commercial Flat Roof Re-Covered?

A flat roof is re-covered by applying a TPO or PVC membrane over the existing roof surface. The membrane is lightweight and provides a new layer of protection for the roof

What Types Of Roofs Can Not Be Recovered?

Flat roofs that have suffered water damage or have more than two existing layers of roofing surfaces cannot be recovered and should be completely replaced. Additionally, if the decking has been compromised in multiple locations, the roof should be completely torn off. Sometimes, damaged decking is only in one area and an isolated tear-off can be performed.
