Atlanta Re-Cover

To ensure a safe working environment, safety lines were established around the roof perimeter, following OSHA fall protection standards. Additionally, anchor points for harnesses were strategically provided. The roof surface underwent thorough cleaning with commercial vacuums, targeting the removal of river rock. The existing roof membrane was selectively removed, and any damaged insulation was inspected and replaced as needed.

In preparation for the new roof installation, existing insulation was prepped, and a 60mil TPO was mechanically attached over the insulation, covering an area of 75,717 square feet. Vertical surfaces were fully adhered with a solvent-based bonding adhesive, totaling 439 square feet. Various installations follow, including TPO pipe boots (19 total), pourable sealant pockets, TPO flashing strips on all curbs (359 LF), and flashing of penetrations, corners, and T-joints as per manufacturer’s specifications. Seam welding between membranes were executed with a hot air welder and probed for accuracy. The termination of the membrane at edges will align with manufacturer specifications.

To enhance drainage, new TPO-coated drip edges were provided and installed at draining edges, and new 24GA steel slip metal was installed underneath curbs. Non-draining edges received new 24GA Kynar-coated steel gravel stops. The project includes the installation of downspouts.
