Atlanta Re-Cover

We began by providing and setting up safety lines around the perimeter of the roof, adhering to OSHA fall protection standards. The process involves removing the existing wall flashing membrane down to the substrate and disposing of any abandoned equipment on the roof off-site. Plywood sheathing was installed on exposed CMU walls to create a suitable substrate for the new roofing material.

The roof surface was then meticulously prepared for the low-rise foam application, including the removal of loose dirt and debris. We proceeded to adhere 115mil Carlisle SureWeld FleeceBACK TPO to the existing roof surface using low-rise foam adhesive. Vertical surfaces were fully adhered with a solvent-based bonding adhesive. TPO pipe boots, pourable sealant pockets, and TPO flashing strips were installed at all necessary locations, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications. All penetrations, corners, and T-joints were thoroughly flashed according to manufacturer guidelines, and seams between membranes were welded with precision using a hot air welder and probe.

To complete the roofing system, the membrane was terminated at the edges as per the manufacturer’s specifications. Rust inhibitor paint was applied to any rusting metal penetrations on the roof. New TPO-coated drip edges, 24GA steel slip metal at curbs and coping caps, Kynar-coated steel gravel stops, a 9×9 box gutter, and Kynar-coated steel downspouts are provided and installed at designated locations.
